Horse Trials

If you are new to eventing, volunteering at a horse trials is one of the best ways to learn about the sport!

If you can give 2, 4 or 6 hours of your time to a horse trials, there may be a job for you!
Organizers are welcoming and will show you what to do.
  • Show Office Volunteers
  • Stewards & Helpers – warm-up rings; dressage scribes; timers; runners; setting show jumps; and more
  • Jump Judges - Always a need, no special skills required! Jump judges simply watch and verify that each competitor completed each obstacles on the cross-country course. At USEA-recognized horse trials, as many as 30 or more volunteer jump judges are needed. Children may usually accompany adult jump judges.
Get in touch with the organizer (follow the NTEA website calendar links) several days ahead of time and to put your name on the list! Officials are welcoming and friendly and will show you what to do.
